A Springtime Dream
This spring, I had the incredible chance to visit the Dutch Flower Parade in the Netherlands and explore the stunning Keukenhof Gardens, a true paradise for any photography enthusiast.
The bright colors of tulip fields stretched as far as the eye could see, creating a breathtaking landscape that felt almost surreal. I marveled at every variety of tulip, from the delicate buds just breaking through the soil to the magnificent blooms in full glory. It’s a place everyone should see at least once in their lifetime.
As I captured the beauty around me, I couldn’t help but feel inspired by the harmony of nature and the artistry of the flower fields. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just someone who appreciates beauty, the Keukenhof Gardens is a must-visit destination.
On the day I arrived in the Netherlands, the weather was sunny, creating a lovely welcome. However, the next day, when I was set to visit Keukenhof, I woke up to pouring rain that lasted until the early afternoon. Not wanting to let the rain stop me and hoping to keep my camera safe, I bought a tulip-patterned umbrella to stay dry.
I mostly used my M.Zuiko 45mm f1.8 lens to capture the flowers, as well as some candid portraits of people in the garden. For the gorgeous blooms, I switched to the Pentacon 50mm f1.8 vintage lens for close-up macro shots as I wanted to achieve a dreamy, nostalgic effect.
In Keukenhof, I got the chance to try poffertjes, the famous Dutch mini pancakes.
These fluffy goodies were absolutely delicious and had a fun twist on regular pancakes. Watching how they were made was really interesting! I even took a few pictures of the process. I love those shots that show how she happily makes these tasty bites. The smell in the air was enough to make anyone hungry.

One of my favorite memories from the trip was wandering through the lovely streets during sunset. I stumbled upon a flower farm by the roadside, where the stunning combination of blooming flowers and the golden hues of the setting sun created an enchanting scene. The air was full with the sweet fragrance of flowers, making the whole experience even more magical.
During my visit, I stayed at Oud Poelgeest, a beautiful castle surrounded by woods, complete with a charming bridge and a pond. Originally built in the 17th century, it was designed as a country house for wealthy families.
Just a short trip from Leiden, this peaceful neighborhood features idyllic parks and some interesting old buildings to explore. I absolutely loved the place and would be more than happy to return anytime.
