Venice - the city of canals
With its winding canals and iconic gondolas, Venice is a true dream destination.
Whenever I arrive in this enchanting city, whether I walk in or take the Vaporetto, I head out into the streets without a plan. This is the place where I love getting lost, wandering around every corner and admiring the stunning architecture, and I often stop in various shops to pick up souvenirs, like a necklace made from Murano glass.
As I strolled through the narrow streets, I came across many charming piazzas, where you’ll find impressive statues. One that really stood out was the statue of Niccolò Tommaseo, a renowned Italian writer and philosopher. His statue captures the essence of the city’s rich literary culture and serves as a reminder of the contributions of great minds to Venice’s history. The buildings and statues are not just part of the scenery; they’re a big part of what makes this city so magical.
One of the coolest things about Venice is the handmade masks that you see everywhere, reflecting the spirit of the Carnival. But beyond that, there are tons of unique shops to explore, where you can easily spend hours wandering and discovering all the amazing things they have to offer.
After a long day of walking, I usually stop to grab a cannoli al pistacchio and caffè freddo. Then, I sit down on the steps by one of the small pontes, dipping my legs into the water as I enjoy every bite of this delicious pastry.
I just soak in the Italian atmosphere. If someone asks me what "chill" means to me, I think this describes it perfectly. :)
