dancing in the flood:

Budapest Amidst the Danube's Rise

In September, I headed out to capture the scenes of the Danube flood, and it turned out to be a truly unique experience.

The city, usually dynamic and bustling, was transformed into a scene of both beauty and chaos. As I walked around, it was hard not to feel the force of nature.

The water levels were alarmingly high, covering familiar spots and changing the landscape completely.

It was a real eye-opener about how powerful our environment can be. The rising waters transformed the city into an unusual playground.

While some people were making the best of it—kids splashing and laughing—many others, both in the capital and in nearby riverside towns, faced serious challenges.

I took several photos with my M.Zuiko 45mm f1.8 lens to capture the surreal moments during the peak of the flood, showcasing the dramatic views and the mixed emotions

of this extraordinary time.
